So I’m running around the bedroom getting ready for Kristin’s Grandmother’s 80th birthday lunch/dinner thing and then SMASH! I destroy my toe against my bed.
At first I was all like;
“Whatever I stubbed my toe and it hurts” so I took some aspirin and went to dinner. By the end of dinner I was in serious pain. I figured it was broken, so I went to CVS and got some tape to “buddy tape” my broken toe to the other little piggy. When I took my sock off I found this…
I decided that since I have a purple toe, (which is getting more purple by the minute) I should go to the emergency room. They x-rayed it and confirmed that it was broken, gave me a vicodin, “buddy taped” the toe, and handed me a prescription for more vicodin. (SWEET)
They told me to keep it on ice and elevated, like so;
Here is how I was sent home. It shows the “buddy tape” in full action. (note, the cotton that was put on my foot for no reason was taken off, but left remnants on my seemingly velcro foot)
The culprit is my bed post. It will pay dearly.
Here is a diagram, drawn by the doctor, describing how the bone is broken. It seems that I chipped the bone and it splintered out. the diagram is a cross-section of the bone.
The pain is expected to last a month. And it will take about 8 weeks to heal. I didn’t get one of those cool shoes because they ran out of my size. BOOOOOO.
On the bright side, Kristin and I got these cool ass masks at CVS!!!!
