I am War Machine January 9, 2010 3:53 am

Dan and I have too much time on our hands…

I’ve stopped using facebook, here’s why. December 3, 2009 5:54 pm

I haven’t used facebook for about a month.

Not because twitter is better, or because facebook sucks. It’s because I want to manage less. Twitter is easy, I say something, chat with people when I feel like it, and ignore it when I want to.

Facebook is different. signing in, I am overloaded with requests, invitations, games, and nonsense that i would never normally care about.

Now I understand many people use facebook as the primary means of connecting and interacting with people, and I think that sucks. If a friend needs to contact me, they can call, text, or email me. I wasn’t  on facebook 24/7, so it’s not very efficient in telling me anything of importance.

“friending” vs. “following”
The terminology seems more selfish for twitter, but twitter is much more than an ego boost, (right). It’s a chat room. and only 1 chat room. not a chat for every mundane piece of information ever.

SOMEONE FUCKING POSTED MY FACE ON /b/ October 20, 2009 10:39 am

Yeah, some mother fucker was in a pervy foot fetish thread and uploaded my pic to /b/ [LINK NSFW]. LOOK:

wtf_carlo

I’d like to thank The Lobsterman for the heads up on this… I did suspect him at first, but the fact that he revealed that he was in a foot fetish thread on /b/ was so trusting that I no longer think he’s guilty.

We are spending the day trying to figure out the source of the image. All versions of the image are named “me-by-mike-shane.jpg” unless it’s an avatar, which usually get a new filename.

The Lobsterman: its called 1187d720106d1002249f281f9300(…).jpg

smells like facebook………

The Lobsterman: Also, not a facebook icon, they are 50×50, not 70×70.

The Lobsterman: your image was posted at 23:42 (11:42pm) which is funny, cause I didn’t find it till almost 1am. those type of theads last a long time.

If you or anyone you know have ANY info on the blatant and abhorrent attack on my personal reputation and well being, please say it in the comments.

More as it develops.

New VF_DOS_ Album, and I am helping again August 25, 2009 10:25 am

Last night I put up the latest “one-sheet” for VF_DOS_, the enigmatic electro-pop-experimental act making a stink on Staten Island.

Picture 14

When we discuss visual style for his stuff, it’s often playful. This last album, he made the cover art and it was pretty fresh. My take for the one-sheet was to K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) and let VF_DOS_ do all the talking. (also I’ve become obsessively more concerned with figuring out the absolute minimum needed to have a readable website. I think this comes close…)

Some Stuff I Made That I Got Around to Hanging in My Apartment August 19, 2009 9:55 pm

About once a week I get a text message from Mike Shane urging me to post more on this site.

The truth is, I want to, very very badly. However I don’t have the time/content to actually post. Today I decided to FIND the content to post. Just for Mike Shane.

Mike,

I made three (well I made more, but I actually liked three) paintings within the past 3 years that I finally got around to hanging up in the apartment.

duck
This is a Goose. I made two stencils out of cardstock, one for the yellow, and one for the black. Sine they are hand cut, it’s a little rough. Made with Krylon on plastic. 8 1/2″ x 12″

hearts
These are Hearts. Again, Krylon on plastic (a “no outside food is permitted into the theatre” sign), however these stencils were store bought. 12″ x 11″

zombie
This one has a funnier story. I found a cheap print-in-frame of Kandinsky’s Squares with Concentric Rings on the curb around the block from my old house. So I picked it up and drew a zombie on it with some squares. The funny part is that my office at work has the same print hanging (obviously sans-zombie). This is hanging above my bead. Made with Krink. 47″ x 35 1/2″

So there you have it Mike! Hopefully more posts to come! Thanks for the push!

Remember LOL Radiohead? 3:16 am

Well “Mighty” Vin Forte took it over and has done a great job with it. Really interesting stuff…

Also, I learned his secret marketing ploy:

Augiemania has a market? Let’s take a look, shall we?

This screen shot is the all time content leader board:

LOL that’s 2 years!!!!!
Actually, as Vin describes it:

In reality, [LOL Radiohead] is my personal blog. It’s more a blog in the traditional sense. It’s for promoting daps posts/workshopping ideas/and posts that are longer than a Twitter but shorter than a DAPS post.

GO CHECK IT OUT!!! lolradiohead.com

PS: It no longer looks like this

Drew’s Crazy Birthday party (not really needing the ambulance) December 21, 2008 12:06 pm

When these went up last night (as they were happening) some people rightfully got nervous.

I awoke to emails and phone calls and txt messages asking if everyone is okay, and they are. We happened to just ride in the ambulance. I won’t get into details.

JL is the man (not pictured)
