Mike Shane Revisits our Collaboration
wow, it must have been more than 5 years ago when Mike Shane approached me about creating a floorboard for the, then, brand new NYC Arts Cypher. I then approached him to help me make it (as he is a great photographer). Ultimately the board was rejected for being a little “violent” for a community based space, but the work is still something I’m very proud of.
from blog.mikeshanephotography.com:
Carlo Montagnino, aka @augiemania, is a digital artist, designer, and total jerk. Here he is faking his own death in this collaborative portrait. Carlo is responsible for internet sensations like Homosexuwhales & Dog and Pony Show.
without going into whatever silly BS i could to describe what this is, I’ll just say that I had this idea for an image in my head for a few weeks at the time. Something about asphalt, yellow lines and a head wound… I posed for it, because I like to be hands on, but it obviously added a bit more to it.
the original was made to be wheat pasted onto a 10′ x 8′ piece of plywood and then used as a floorboard. Mike, I may have to get this printed up soon… when do you have time?

wow this is so good. i really like it. especially the part where you’d dead. just kidding. i hope you do more stuff with mike. carlo death project??? do it.
