I’ve stopped using facebook, here’s why.
I haven’t used facebook for about a month.
Not because twitter is better, or because facebook sucks. It’s because I want to manage less. Twitter is easy, I say something, chat with people when I feel like it, and ignore it when I want to.
Facebook is different. signing in, I am overloaded with requests, invitations, games, and nonsense that i would never normally care about.
Now I understand many people use facebook as the primary means of connecting and interacting with people, and I think that sucks. If a friend needs to contact me, they can call, text, or email me. I wasn’t on facebook 24/7, so it’s not very efficient in telling me anything of importance.
“friending” vs. “following”
The terminology seems more selfish for twitter, but twitter is much more than an ego boost, (right). It’s a chat room. and only 1 chat room. not a chat for every mundane piece of information ever.
I’ve stop using facebook and Twitter. Here’s why: I’ve never used them to begin with. Facebook, well. The last thing I want in life is to get in touch with people from the sorted past. Twitter, well. I just can’t seem to grasp the word “Tweet” or the expression “Follow Me” as being cool. Tweet or Twit or Tweedle. I just can’t dig it. Mia, on the other hand loves Facebook. I do understand that Twitter suits you better though. I see Mia spending (wasting) mass amounts of time on Facebook. While Tweed-el-ing only takes but a minute.
P.S.
My new favorite show is, yep, you guessed it…
Jersey Shore
- Tweedle G
