Comic Sans Can Work: Found in use 01

And you know what, It looks damn good.

I’ve emailed the maintainer of this website for comments:

Me: Basically, I am curious about your choice in using Comic Sans as your site’s typeface…
Sabrina: Comic Sans happened on my page because I post weekly comics that I’ve drawn and I see the comic font as a continued theme. Also, Times New Roman was out of the question because it makes me think of all of those English papers I had to write.
Me: What is your favorite typeface?
Sabrina: Well, I have no passionate hatred or love affair with any font in particular. I think i’d write everything in Edwardian Script, in order to feel terribly dignified, if all of those swirls were truly legible. I’ve always wanted to scan my own handwriting and make it into a font but that wouldn’t really be an improvement on the legibility front.

Me: Anything you want to promote?
Sabrina: I would love for people to check out www.iAmSlowlyLosingMyMind.com. As I said before, I post weekly comics but also, photos, music mixes, and artist showcases with links and interviews, every week.

I hope everyone checks out http://iamslowlylosingmymind.com and if you guys are interested, please visit, http://iamslowlylosingmymind.com/want-to-joinsubmit to sign up.

They launched their “Style Guide” today. So I took it for a spin.

Remember LOL Radiohead?

Well “Mighty” Vin Forte took it over and has done a great job with it. Really interesting stuff…

Also, I learned his secret marketing ploy:

Augiemania has a market? Let’s take a look, shall we?

This screen shot is the all time content leader board:

LOL that’s 2 years!!!!!
Actually, as Vin describes it:

In reality, [LOL Radiohead] is my personal blog. It’s more a blog in the traditional sense. It’s for promoting daps posts/workshopping ideas/and posts that are longer than a Twitter but shorter than a DAPS post.

GO CHECK IT OUT!!! lolradiohead.com

Terrible Manhattan Mini Storage Ads

Okay, This is something I saw on the train today.

Manhattan Mini Storage started this (pretty fucking shitty) ad campaign where they stuff some “storagey” word into some weird definition of a person, with a picture with the person doing some cool ass (yet lazy) thing. here’s an example:

click for full size.

click for full size.

Yes, these are the same guys that did these ads as well.

Every ad uses accent marks, tildes, and umlauts in the most horrific and incorrect way possible.
