The Saddest Day in Staten Island History October 16, 2008 8:48 pm
On the corner of Bay St. and Hylan Blvd live an old advertisement for Staten Island Amusements. After the building changed owners, the phone number was painted over. But the absolute beauty of the mural has remained for years and years.
Passing by and seeing it brings me to another place. A place where Staten Island has culture, a sense of community, and a really liberal idea about dancing aliens.

Today, that sign was taken down.

I really hope this doesn’t start a trend of destroying the cool shit on Staten Island.
