I had gotten my nephew The Force Unleashed for his birthday. He loves Star Wars. To coincide with his gift, I had intended on modifying a lightsaber toy to house his wiimote. Today I found something that made me angry…

Now I should have expected this, but it still upsets me because I just got my drummel tool this morning. FUCK.
Anywho, here are some photos of my dismantling of a lightsaber toy.

The Real Estate Ledger is a Real Estate blog by an old friend of mine, Tom Ledger. (PUNNY NAME)

I love this blog, there is a really light feel to the writing along wit a sense of real knowledge. Also, his pic is great!

Marisa Olson is a performance artist. She is “being coached” by Michael Mandiberg

Veterans of web-based autobiographical performance, Olson and “Coach Mandiberg” have teamed-up to get Marisa through her dissertation by framing it as an act of endurance. Every day for the month of September, Olson will spend all day writing while webcam shots and screencaps of her desktop are automatically uploaded to the net every 60 seconds. This gesture of transparency is a continuation of Olson’s research into the role of sousveillance in “The Art of Protest in Network Culture.”
This page will update itself every minute while the performance is active–during normal business hours, EST.
You can see the project here.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Michael on his TheRealCosts project, as well as many websites under the Subsidiary Design banner. Also, I was his student at CSI for 3 years.
Definitely check this all out.
Roadside memorials are pretty popular in staten island. Basically they commemorate the place of death for a young islander. They die pretty often out here in street races and motorcycle accidents. This one is a bit different…

It seems that this woman started St. Dorothy’s school in like the 1800s or something. She’s been dead a while, and definitely didn’t die on Hylan blvd.
So I ask, is this some strange mid-island street art, school project, or hysterical prank? I’d like to think its the first or third. Kudos!
You can find it on the corner of Old Town Rd and Hylan Blvd.
Isn’t NY a bit, ummm, Metropolitan for this? Looks like the Urban D&D crowd is getting some love.
here’s a video from the 2005 affair:
Grande Joust? FTW!

I can tell you for sure that I will not be in attendance.
Sometimes people do stupid things that they regret the moment they stop doing it.
For example: I fart on Kristin. I think it’s funny until she punches my nuts. Then i regret doing the stupid thing. (notice, it’s not stupid until after the act has been completed.)
Hindsite is 20/20 my friends, and nothing gives you hindsight like getting punched in the dick by a chick who was just farted on.
Ok. Now the reason I wanted to write this post was more as a cathartic release. The other night I did something stupid, BUT I will benefit from it every week for the next 20 something weeks. So it’s really just me being a guilt ridden pussy.
I wrote a poem about it. It’s called “Doing Stupid shit is never cool, unless you will benefit from it directly”
I needed something,
Okay, not really needed, but it definitely helps to have it.
So I took it.
I hope no one saw me steal that lighter from Brendan.
I had the following convo with Tavis:

“cynics may shake their heads, but cynics never really do much anyway. Except shake their heads.”
Great quote, it rings true.
I saw this on an ad for the freelancers union, which has, in my opinion, notoriously terrible looking ads.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the fact that it isn’t ‘more of the same,’ but if you want to showcase your freelancers, or whatever the objective of the ads is, make them pretty, please.

In case you weren’t aware, my twitter is just a replication of my blog. I figured it would be nice to let ll you twitter folks know as I have seen a “surge” in my followers over the past few weeks.
