Anonymous vs Scientology: My Thoughts January 30, 2008 6:05 pm
Scientology is an evil corporation that manipulates, blackmails, and even murders people. It poses as a religions and uses a type of brainwashing to get it’s believers to fork over life savings. Celebrities don’t see this side because they are treated as “royalty.”
L. Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer, who won a bet.
Anonymous is legion, everywhere, whatever, we’ve all seen the vids. I support all types of activism against organized religion and corporations, but i think Anonymous is missing the point.
Anonymous is an umbrella term used to describe a large group of people on the internet. These people find ways to amuse themselves. Sometimes they “raid” places like Habbo Hotel, or MySpace, but it is done for “teh lulz” (a corruption of lol). Never were they intended as political actions.
People new to Anonymous can easily get swept into the freedom of the group and do it wrong. DOS’ing Scientology is funny. Handing out pamphlets in front of Churches is political…NOT THE POINT OF ANONYMOUS.
Anonymous gets together in the dark corners of the internet, share some pics, tell a story, and laugh together…but this “hackers on steroids” bullshit is getting taken too far. The term “Internet Hate Machine” was coined by FOX news in LA for some BS story to make people fear nothing. Anonymous co-opted the term ironically, and laughed. Why did they laugh? BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT A HATE MACHINE. THEY DO NOT CARE ENOUGH. It’s just a funny joke. People who take this seriously, ESPECIALLY THOSE WITHIN ANONYMOUS, just fail.
Anonymous, I have this advice for you. Don’t take yourself too seriously with this Scientology thing, you never did before. Also, Scientology is massive, handing out pamphlets, DOS’ing sites, and making silly videos wont stop them. Seriously. Just live your life, and let those in your personal lives know the dangers you’ve uncovered. There is no need to act like 16 year olds….oh wait, you are 16 year olds.
TL;DR LURK MOAR
