Old site idea

Back when I was into flash, I had planned on making myself a portfolio site. I had made the basic pages, but never laid the content into it…I decided against the whole thing. I did, however, really like the look of the site. It was tiny, and crazy-ish. I used photos from a shoot my friend Dave and I did a while back, where we wore ski masks and posed with pellet guns. Hardcore isht! You can actually see Dave’s opinion of the shoot, if you want to.

Casa Segura launch!!!

Casa Segura
On September 27th, casasegura.us launched. Casa Segura is a project by Robert Ransick.

Casa Segura (Safe House) is an artwork that combines a small public access structure on private land in the Sonoran desert in Southern Arizona with a dynamic bilingual web space that facilitates creative exchange, dialogue, and understanding. Located north of the Mexican border, Casa Segura engages three distinct groups: Mexican migrants crossing the border through this dangerous landscape, the property owners whose land they cross, and members of the general public interested in learning more about border issues and the intricate dynamics at play in this heavily trafficked region. It is a conceptual project that contrasts existing conditions with new choices that can positively transform how individuals on both sides of the divide engage with and perceive one another.

I worked with Robert on the building of this site (along with dope skillz from Jamie Wilkinson, madd props!). Regrettably I was unable to attend the opening of the show at eyebeam. Dang school!!!
Congrats to Robert and everyone else who was apart of the project.

Halloween

Mikey MyersI just saw the new Halloween by Rob Zombie. Disappointing!!!

Heres the rundown:

  • Too long and too boring
  • Rob Zombie ran out of ‘good’ ideas
  • Lame Casting
  • Too much giggling from teen girls (although the sexy parts were accurate)
  • Zombie relied on old stylistic tricks
  • the back story of Michael Myers wasn”t really interesting enough (although the step father dude was kinda hysterical).

There were some redeeming points though like the Taxi Driver homage after the family is killed, and the teen boobs, they were hot!
